Behind the buff is one of my articulating accessories: a 4" articulating elbow with a used face shield attached. This works especially well for polishing jewelry, flatware and small holloware. All particulate is sucked back and away from the user (though, I still use a respirator). When buffing the interiors of holloware or refinishing candelabras, I can always remove this accessory, use others, or just use the collecting entrance in the back of the enclosure.

You'll also notice a glossy white piece of plastic on the outside left wall of the enclosure. This is used as a reflective surface to determine if the object I'm buffing has firestain remaining, or to make sure the patina I have applied is being highlighted evenly.
