Sterling Cane Handle

This came to me for major reconstructive surgery as the owner wanted to continue using it. It had been previously repaired with lead solder and filled with plaster which had to be removed

There were an enormous number of cracks and areas had to be realigned.

Once the reshaping was finished, the welding began using sterling wire that was .010" of an inch in diameter. (See the welding process here.)

The nose had been worn away and I left it that way because I knew it would iritate the user's hand

The results from the reconstructive surgery! A steel reinforcing rod and urethane were inserted prior to reattaching the head to the shaft with epoxy. The cane is now ready for the full weight of the user to be applied.
